The Racket Reading Series
San Francisco is a literary city. It has always been a dream of mine to produce an event where local authors can share their work with a warm, receptive audience.
After I hosted a successful pop-up event with artist, Jason Houck, at the legendary bookstore, Adobe Books, they inquired about making it a monthly event. I founded the The Racket in November of 2016 and since then I’ve curated a monthly event and have featured hundreds of up-and-coming writers.
The Racket has grown to be one of the city's more popular reading events. We've increased interest and attendance through a burgeoning social following as well as the development of a network of local and national influencers. I research and manage a rotating cast of designers to produce a monthly poster series (shown below). I concept and create a popular monthly newsletter featuring the work of local authors, artists and a bi-monthly playlist. Our website, when finished, will spotlight more authors, more content and continue to grow and benefit the literary community.
